One reason I came here to Malapascua was this elegant and stunning creature – the Thresher Shark. I was not really a diving enthusiast, but first tried it in Thailand. But when I arrived here on Malapascua it grabbed me. After familiarizing myself with the local dive schools, it quickly became clear that I would become a Sea Explorers student. Fate then introduced me to my instructor Tongi. I had the great honor of becoming his only student at that time and that was true luxury. Tongi has aroused my enthusiasm and I really enjoyed exploring this new world underwater with him. And then came the day I first met a thresher shark in its natural environment. That was certainly one of my greatest experiences of my entire life. This elegance and sublimity has impressed me deeply. I hope I will meet this shark sometime again.
